I just got done with institute this morning and the lesson was on The Plan of Happiness and read a talk on it by Elder Packer. When we were reading this talk out loud to each other paragraph 23 hit me like a ton of bricks.
Elder packer and his wife have been together for nearly 70 YEARS! The reason is that the molded their marriage around the gospel. Our mortal days are short but I love how he says, "for the promise the Lord has given that there will be no end." I can't wait to grow old and have arguments with Natalie. Having the gospel in our home is going to be our number one priority. I asked the missionary couple that was teaching our class, "what has been the thing you have done in your marriage that has improved it the most?" The husband answered first and said, constant prayer at night with your wife is essential. It's hard to pray when you are in an argument or mad at the other person. So always pray together at night and never go to bed with hurt feelings." The wife said, "always be the first one to say sorry." These things are very important. I can't wait to put these into practice with Natalie.
This morning was full of the spirit and great start to a wonderful day.

Natalie and I always FaceTime at night when I am away out of town. I think last night was the most epic FaceTime we have had so far. Haha I slept in the Denver airport last night underneath a desk on the second floor and FaceTimed her all night long. I freezed my butt off all night. The first 2 hours were okay but then it got super cold and I woke up every 30 mins shaking. The reason why I slept in the airport was because united airlines had a computer problem and had to many people on the plane so they offered on the intercom for someone to step off and stay the night. The offer included meals paid for and a $500 in ticket fares. Right when I heard that I thought of Natalie and quickly pressed the button before anyone else could receive that offer before I did. Yeah I suffered all night but it was totally worth it because now we have a free flight to see each other. :) by the way I am flying first class.
